Synopsis

Getting to Bent’ is the feature length extension of the 2006 doco short \'Transformers- The Art of Circuit Bending\' . Part-music subculture documentary and part-road movie,   \'Getting to Bent\' offers a rare insight into the unique and often bizarre culture of DIY musical instrument “re-calibration” known as circuit bending.  ‘Getting to Bent’ follows a geeky, yet always entertaining crew of ‘circuit benders’ from around the world as they embark on the ultimate circuit bending pilgrimage to the ‘Bent Festival’ - the annual (and the one and only) international circuit bending festival held across three states in the USA … that is, if they can manage to explain their way through customs with items in their luggage such as rewired Casio keyboards, hacked Gameboys and GI Joe’s with stereo outputs.
